Most that prey upon the living cling to shadow, making their demesne in areas unfrequented or well hidden.  Contrary to this practice, the vampires of the Elduru are openly venerated by the populace, elevated to great renown for their apparent agelessness and fearsome power.  Living in large castles and fed with sacrifices, willing and otherwise, Elduru Vampires are known to assume a variety of forms: including that of bats, wolves, and even misty vapors.  It is no surprise then that neighboring peoples fear and avoid the Elduru lands.  Those few that have traded there and returned claim that the hold of the Elduru vampires rests on the mesmerizing hypnotic powers of their gaze, which can bend the will of weaker minds.
